Firstly, a huge thank you to all who have listened to the first episode of this podcast for Harley owners in the UK & Ireland. Many of you got in touch to passed on your thoughts and comments. This is exactly the reason that we thought the HOG-POD for Chapters in the UK and Ireland would be a great idea.
After the launch of the first episode, we have received all kinds of messages of support and congratulations. We are already recording the next episode which will be released on Sunday 4th September 2022.
The topic will centre on the balancing act that any Chapter faces within its membership. Long time members are a deep well of knowledge when it comes to the history and personalities of the Chapter, past and present. Newer members come with fresh ideas, new slants on things and can be busting with ideas to bring a new dimension to your Chapter.
We will be asking, do longer serving members become jaded, fall into cliques,? Do they become less willing to try out new ideas, especially if something similar has been tried in the past but without any success? Can newer members be over keen, putting off the ‘old guard’ thus creating friction points within a chapter? What does H.O.G UK & Ireland do to encourage newer members to get involved?
There is no doubt that everyone wants to the best out of H.O.G as well as its Chapters. As with any large group of people, it is not without its challenges, making the role of Director and Assistant Director quite the balancing act.
We would love to hear your own thoughts on this, or any experiences from within your own chapter.
